Peer support provides the opportunity for people with diabetes to share their knowledge, experience, emotions, ideas and concerns with one another, effectively supplementing the knowledge and expertise offered by health professionals. This report summarises the findings of the first national Australian survey of 2,342 adults with type 1 or type 2 diabetes focused on their perceptions, preferences and experiences of diabetes peer support.
