Community Engagement Coordinator

Meaghan is the community engagement coordinator at the ACBRD. Meaghan holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree from The University of Melbourne and a Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education from Deakin University together with training in community engagement.
Meaghan worked across laboratory, clinical and pharmaceutical research before following an opportunity to work in community engagement. She now combines her nearly 40 years of lived experience of type 1 diabetes with her research experience to elevate the voice of lived experience in diabetes research.
Meaghan was thrilled to join the ACBRD team in 2026 to coordinate community engagement amongst researchers who share her passion in this area. Meaghan is a passionate diabetes advocate and is excited to contribute across many ACBRD projects to help make life easier for people with diabetes.
