Adriana is a Research Fellow at the ACBRD and she also works as a psychologist in private practice. Adriana joined the Centre in 2012 while completing her Doctorate in Health Psychology at Deakin University. Since then, she has been engaged in various projects including the Diabetes Stigma research program (including development of the DSAS-1 and DSAS-2 scales), and Diabetes MILES-2. She is currently the coordinator for the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) Mental Health and Diabetes National Priority Area and lead investigator on an ADEA-funded research project: ‘Supporting people with diabetes distress: Development and pilot randomised controlled trial of an online training module for health professionals’. Her role involves the development of resources for health care professionals and people with diabetes to better manage and navigate the emotional and psychological complexities associated with diabetes.
